In collaboration with the design team, ML+A served as the landscape architects for this corporate headquarters site development improvement project since 2004. This was a comprehensive multi-year site construction effort that transformed significant portions of the campus from a traditional suburban office park. The plan is consistent with the Specific Plan previously approved by the City of Thousand Oaks and each project was reviewed by the City prior to construction.
The goal is to develop a series of spaces that will enrich the working environment while clarifying pedestrian and vehicular circulation, general site orientation and enhancing the sense of place.
The goal is to develop a series of spaces that will enrich the working environment while clarifying pedestrian and vehicular circulation, general site orientation and enhancing the sense of place. The landscape design includes the creation of a substantial park-like open space that will serve as the physical and psychological heart of the campus, the re-construction of an internal roadway as a tree shaded pedestrian streets and the development of a variety of event and gathering spaces. The Campus Commons, an 8 acre park-like space at the intersection of the Terraces and the Paseo, is the primary open space for the campus. A 60-foot diameter pool with water jets and swaying cattails provides a pause in the Terraces axis before the grand stairway down to the Mission Garden.
